Well, that's another year over...........sorry, but we spend a long time planning our annual Holiday Week and the activities to keep us all entertained all week and then it's gone! Hopefully we will have a good 2 months left before saying the summer is over too!
We kicked off with a game of Crazy Golf and then a brand new event: one of our young members collected sponsorship money for Cancer charities in honour of her late Grandmother, by having her beautiful long hair cut down to a shaved no.4! A brave thing to do and a wonderful gesture donating the hair to a company that manufactures wigs for children living with cancer.
In the evening we had a Wild West themed meal and disco.
Sunday was market day along with a cake stall and various games and then cream teas in the afternoon.
Monday morning was spent with the children around a Rabbit themed day of colouring, sticking and decorating rabbit shaped biscuits and lunch bags to have a picnic in the wood in the afternoon.
The evening was spent playing "Pub Games".
Tuesday hosted our Horse Racing ponies with young jockeys and exciting races.......you have to see it to believe it!
Wednesday was the start of the Crazy Golf Tournament which, like the miniten, darts and petanque, ran throughout the week.
Thursday afternoon and most of the ladies spent time chatting, laughing and drinking various concoctions whilst the men and children had a sports day. Fish 'n Chips were brought in to save cooking that evening!
A Treasure Hunt kept the children busy on Friday morning and the men had their turn of drinking with their Real Ale Tasting Night.
Each took 2 bottles and they were all sampled to find favourites but they had all been drunk by the end of the night!
Saturday had the children playing pool bingo with them splashing about to find the correctly numbered yellow duck!
The evening event was a School Disco with fancy dress and school dinner that was so much better than any meal we could recall from our schooldays and then we had Stephen Cesari to sing for us once again; back by popular demand.
Sunday was our last day with a BBQ lunch and the raffle drawn and then people began packing up and going home after a really good week and the weather, though changeable at times, was kind to us and didn't spoil any of our fun
